Jay Haley could be dubbed the master of strategic
therapy. He has been a key note speaker at several of the Erickson Foundation's
annual conferences, and his presentations are always to a packed audience. He
studied with Dr. Erickson for many years, and also with Gregory Bateson. He was
one of the founders of the Family Therapy Institute. Mr. Haley is an incredibly
powerful speaker, with the ability to provide practical insights as he explains
the process of therapy. He has written extensively on the subject of "Strategic
Therapy" and has made a major contribution to the background of Dr. Erickson in
his biographical work, "Jay Haley on Milton H. Erickson". His triad series
"Conversations with Milton H. Erickson" are an invaluable reference source on
the workings of Dr. Erickson's therapeutic approaches. His book "Uncommon
Therapy" is a great primer for therapists wanting an introduction to Dr.
Erickson's therapies. |
